Whilst preparing some of the videos for the streaming server, I’ve learnt a few things.
Tips for preparing media for PSTOIC
1) No spaces in foldernames
2) Don’t use # in filename
3) Smaller video clips can be placed onto the Webserver but those 200MB documentaries etc need to be streamed.
4) For streaming need one of the streaming formats e.g. wmv etc. Unfortunately DIVX and AVI are not supported directly.
5) If you want to spit something into lots of chapters then we also need those in streaming formats.
At the moment we can manually create an ASX file to redirect media player to the streaming server, in the future, it should be possible to automatically create that from the info in the database.
Example ASX file
