Next PSTOIC get to gether: Friday 1st June.
Summer is here so there’s no excuse, plus we haven’t had one since November!! Here are the details:
Meet 6.30pm at the Sherlock Holmes pub on Northumberland Avenue. 8pm at Garfunkels on the corner of Northumberland Avenue and Trafalger Square. Nearest tubes are Charing Cross and Embankment. From Trafalger square head down Northhumberland avenue towards the river. Sherlock Holmes is on the left about halfway down. We can sit outside if the weather is good. The restaurant is back up Northumberland Avenue as it joins Trafalger square. It would be nice to have some idea of numbers, so please let me know if you can make it.

Channel 4 is calling for creative geniuses, and wants to give them a chance to see their work broadcast on national TV. As you’re passionate about film and the media, I hope that you might be amongst those best able to offer innovative ideas and/or pass this information on to others.

Adam and Joe are presenting a new series to be broadcast later this year showing the best of people’s home movies. But we’re not talking “You’ve Been Framed” here. We want spoofs, rants, the funny, angry, sideways slices of life that you create yourself. Preferably quirky and innovative but the subjects can be serious, sad, silly – whatever. 5 minutes is the maximum length of each clip – the shortest is up to you. We can also show extracts of longer work. Adam & Joe’s Takeover TV is the show where you don’t just control the content – you create it! The film makers of tomorrow are what we’re looking for.
This is the series on which Adam & Joe were originally discovered. We can’t offer a Hollywood budget – only a maximum of £90 for clips we do show – but do offer the perfect showcase on national TV. Graham Norton, Armstrong & Miller, the director of sitcom ‘Spaced’ and numerous others had their first TV exposure on past series of Takeover TV. The submissions can be on any format. How about we start a PSTOIC Weblog? Seems like everyones got one at the moment, and when it comes to nicking ideas, surely we can rise to the challenge?

I know a lot of the people in PSTOIC spend a lot of time wandering about the web, so why not add a link, and tell us why you got there… To start off, I recently visited Fuckedcompany.com which lists all the rumours about dot-gones. I was checking to see if Macromedia (who’s software I use a lot) was mentioned – and it was! 🙁 Just post a comment to this message, and it will build up with links and stories…Or, we could start it in the Web Links section. NaSTA approaches and Chris Jackson of STOIC has invited any ex-members of STOIC to join in on the final evening for a black tie dinner and award ceremony.
