2009 Annual Dinner over
filed in News on Jan.11, 2009
The annual dinner took place with 23 ex stoic and IC Radio members attending.
- The Rembrandt dining room
- “Hemorrhoids” ball
- Andy’s Flea Chariot Carrying Case
It was a great turn out, so thanks to everyone who made it. We started in the Hoop and Toy for a quick half. Then we trundled down to the Rembrandt where I was disappointed to not see our name up on the Conferences notice board, considering the struggle it had been to make the booking. As usual we could barely squeeze into the restuarant, but luckily (or maybe becuase of the noise we were making) it went down from 3 other tables to zero later. After the 3 course dinner there were a few words from myself, but the much anticipated “humorous moment” traditionally supplied by Richard Fincher did not happen. Still there’s always next year.
Andy Clark brought along a microscopic flea chariot, made in his own workshop. Whether or not this will be included in the upcoming Terminator 3 remake is not known. Something sure to be in it though was the “Hemorrhoids” ball from Tim Harcourt is bound to be.
If you didn’t make it this year, please put the date in your diary for 2010 – second Saturday in January – although it’s been suggested we make it nearer New Year – we’ll see if there’s much interest in changing the date.

The flea chariot has proved very popular on youtube too. There is a chap in Austria who can help Brian with soundproof basement.

Obviously a big thanks needs to go to Rex for dealing with the staff and the Rembrant and making sure we did not leave without paying.

Although there was the near disaster when Rex gave away the last piece of chocolate tart, but managed to redeem himself with honours with a helping of Profiteroles.
And lets not forget the haemeroid ball that caused equal amounts of fascination and revulsion!
